How much notice do you need?
Unfortunately, there is not a cut and dried answer to that question. Some months we book up 3-4 weeks in advance (usually during wedding season), and others are slower so we can accommodate rush orders. If in doubt, please call. We do our best to accommodate our customers. As a general rule, one to two week's notice is usually sufficient. Of course, if you have a sculpted cake or intricate cake in mind or want to be sure we can take your order, you can call several weeks in advance. Some of our customers even call a month or two before their event to guarantee their date is open.

Do you make cakes that are half chocolate and half vanilla?
Yes, we can do half and half cakes for sheet cakes and round cakes. There is an extra charge of $3-$5, depending on the size, for this service as it takes a bit longer to mix 2 different batters.

Can you split and fill my sheet cake?
Yes, we can fill most cakes. Filling is not recommended for the sculpted cakes, but can be a nice addition to most other cakes. Bavarian crème and cookies and crème are the most popular filling choices for party cakes.

Why do you charge a rush fee for late orders?
We charge an additional $5 fee for single layer cakes and $20 fee for elaborate or sculpted cakes that we accommodate with 2 days or less notice because it generally means extra time for us. We buy the supplies that we need for the week's cakes all at one time. To make a last minute cake order sometimes means that we have to make an extra trip to pick up supplies for that one cake. Other times, it means that we have to work later into the night than we normally do or begin work much earlier than our normal schedule. Remember, we make each cake to order. We don't have frozen cakes on hand that can be thawed and decorated at the last minute, nor do we normally stock pre-made icing decorations. We don't mind doing these last minute things when we can, but please understand this extra attention adds to our cost.

Do you have any suggestions for a graduation cake?
School mascots are always popular as well as school emblems. For a 3D effect, molded fondant diplomas and white or milk chocolate mortar boards are nice as well. If you want something a bit more personalized, we can incorporate artwork representing his/her school activities or you can have a caricature made of your graduate or you may select one of the graduation designs from our portfolio.

I want something really different for my celebration. What can you do?
Literally, the sky is the limit. We hand sculpt 3D cakes. We construct chocolate toy chests full of sugar molded toys. We airbrush tie dyed backgrounds. We pipe fish, cars, pets, favorite toys, and all sorts of other things. Run an idea by us and more than likely, we can figure a way to make your dream cake a reality.

I want a decorated cake for my child's school, but the teacher prefers not to deal with plates and forks. Do you have any suggestions?
A cute alternative to a sheet cake is a decorated cupcake cake. It has the basic look of a regular cake (pictures, roses, borders, etc.) but is made by icing grouped cupcakes. To serve, simply lift up each cupcake individually.

Do you make decorated cookies?
Yes, we make both individual cookies and larger cookie cakes. Our cookie cakes can be round, heart shaped or baked in a character pan (dog, kitten, race car, etc.) for an unusual shape. Our cookie cakes are decorated with creamy buttercream icing. Our individual cookies are decorated with delicious cookie glazes, royal icing, sanding sugars or a combination. For individual cookie orders, we require a minimum order of 25.
